“Hi, my name is Serena and I came to the Women’s Resource Center 15 years ago when I found out I was pregnant with my first child. I was young, a first time mom and in a town with no family close by to call on. My best friend told me about the Center, so I made an appointment. I showed up to my appointment and I was so scared. Here I was an unwed mother, with no job and terrified of being judged, but I wasn’t. I was welcomed in with open arms and so much love. I went to each meeting religiously and did my bible study. I became closer to God and realized that I was not alone. With each meeting I got to go to the Mommy store and pick out something for my diaper bag, that was for me or for my baby and it wasn’t a hand me down or something someone else had to buy. I learned so much and I was so grateful for everything. My experience is still with me to this day and I will always appreciate The Women’s Resource Center.”
